The University of Toledo offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) and Education Specialist Degree (ED.S.) in School Psychology. Both are fully approved (through 2027) by the . Completion of the M.A. and ED.S. degrees allows graduates to apply for the NCSP credential. The NCSP represents a national credential for school psychologists.
The terms certification, license, and credential are sometimes used interchangeably. ÌýA “credential" is a broad term referring to an indicator that an individual has met a certain set of criteria related to graduate preparation, experience, and knowledge or skill, whereas an educator license or certification refers specifically to the legal authority to provide services within a jurisdiction. The type of credentials required to provide school psychological services vary across states are typically referred to as a certification, license, or endorsement.
